03:07phomes_[d]: testing on turing was great. max warps pr sm now get set to 32 instead of the previous hardcoded 48. For lego builders this increased fps from 6 to 12 on that old card
03:25phomes_[d]: if the table on wikipedia is correct then most of ampere, ada, and blackwell should get 48 anyway, so no change for them. On Kepler to Volta it should be 64 so they may benefit from the MR as well. I don't have any of those to test on though
07:08marysaka[d]: I could test Maxwell and Pascal quickly tomorrow
09:34phomes_[d]: nice. Note that Lego Builder's Journey was the game that reacted the most to the earlier occupancy fixes. Other games were not affected at all
13:39OftenTimeConsuming: I wasn't imagining the performance regression. mesa 25.1.8 gets 110fps in snow peak supertuxkart. mesa 25.3.0 gets 48fps in snow peak supertuxkart.
14:29phomes_[d]: what gpu is that on? and what version of supertuxkart? I will see if I can reproduce
14:49OftenTimeConsuming: 780 Ti. 0.6.3-r2
14:49OftenTimeConsuming: Resolution 1440p@120Hz
15:18OftenTimeConsuming: The other version of supertuxkart might be an older version, but I'll have to check and I can't now, as it's double digit km away :)
15:22phomes_[d]: Ok. I can do some tests here but I don’t have a kepler card so might not hit the issue.
15:22phomes_[d]: Can you double check the version? 0.6.3 sounds like a version from the platform game supertux. Supertuxkart is currently at 1.5
18:20__ad: hi, i am trying to fix a backlight issue on a lenovo legion laptop. Screen unsing nvidia card is black. I solved the issue by adding some code for ADA_LOVELACE case in nvidia_backlight.c
18:21__ad: but looks like backlight should be managed by acpi, likely, from nvkm/subdev/gsp/rm/r535/disp.c . Is it correct ?
18:22__ad: any info/wiki on how the backlight should work is welcome, so i try a better fix.
