18:10Lynne: which kernel branch should I use to test nvk?
18:10Lynne: I'd like to commit sacrilege and test it with my 6000 ada, maybe hack around a bit
19:35karolherbst: ada isn't supported yet
19:36karolherbst: I hope I'll get a GPU soon, but I wasn't able to do any verification, not sure if skeggsb has any patches to enable it proper. But then it will probably gsp be only and everything
20:01Lynne: is it programming differences or just needs to have the identifiers registered?
20:01karolherbst: it should be quite close to Turing
20:02Lynne: why would it matter whether it's gsp or not?
20:02karolherbst: because we need acceleration firmware
20:02karolherbst: and we didn't get any for ada afaik
20:09Lynne: I meant in terms of what the firmware offers (I'm assuming the acceleration firmware is the standard?)
20:09karolherbst: a valid signature
20:11karolherbst: well.. and allowing us to context switch and other features we'll need
20:11karolherbst: anyway
20:11karolherbst: need firmware
20:12Lynne: well, context switching sounds important
20:13Lynne: so just having gsp firmware doesn't solve anything?
20:14karolherbst: need a kernel with support for it as well, and it's all WIP at this point
20:14Lynne: I don't mind wip, that's why I'd like to test it
20:18Lynne: oh, you meant they haven't released gsp firmware for ada, now I see
20:19karolherbst: mhh, yeah not sure about that one actually, would have to check the newest driver. Might also just use the ampere one which would be funky
20:23karolherbst: but yeah, I don't think it's supported yet
20:25DodoGTA: Nouveau GSP support has too much issues right now to be usable
20:28Lynne: I don't intend to run anything but single compute jobs on it for now
20:40Lynne: I'll poke them to release firmware, maybe they'll listen to me (I wouldn't mention nvk)
20:50raket: trying gm200 with wine and dxvk 1.5.. pushbuf bo count exceeds limit: 1055 max 1024 :^)
20:59karolherbst: oof
21:01raket: linux 6.1.22 , mesa-5181767c24c5000be243bf24af00786d269a7b73, dxvk-1.5 :)
