22:09sparky4: i have a bug to report
22:43karolherbst: sparky4: then either tell us about here or use the bug tracker: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/nouveau/-/issues
22:44karolherbst: huh.. that reminds me, I should close some of those
23:29sparky4: done https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/nouveau/-/issues/184
23:29karolherbst: uhh nv49... "fun"
23:30karolherbst: maybe https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/12241 fixes it? dunno
23:31karolherbst: we did land some fixes in that driver in recent time though
23:31karolherbst: what's the mesa version you are using?
23:31sparky4: lets see
23:32karolherbst: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/12054 was a big one I landed last year
23:32karolherbst: essentially unbreak most vertex shaders
23:33karolherbst: that's not part of 20.3
23:33karolherbst: 21.1 has it
23:33karolherbst: and then there is https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/18137 which fixed gnome
23:33karolherbst: we merged that one three weeks ago
23:34sparky4: i should get newer versions of mesa and nouveau?
23:34sparky4: since ther ebeen fixes
23:35karolherbst: hard to say. With debian I generally advise users to use distributions which don't lack behind as much, because fixes take a looong time to reach users
23:35karolherbst: but the last one isn't even released yet
23:36karolherbst: you could try to build from main and see how that goes, but it can also be that it doesn't even compile for whatever reasons
23:37sparky4: hmmmm links to repositories? :D
23:41karolherbst: but it can be that those fixes don't fix your crashes, because we fixed mostly rendering problems, not crashes directly. Though those could lead to crashes depending on what the applications are doing
