00:13raket: i think commit 960c86d6787437b643825baa230bc0cd7f9f7540 breaks nouveau with mesa and ezquake. 3326861f4f4bd44448659821e6d6fb5ccea0327. <- that one works with ezquake. anyone wanna try? https://github.com/ezQuake/ezquake-source.git http://nquake.com
00:32imirkin: karolherbst: not sure i can ... let's seee....
00:33imirkin: karolherbst: i can :)
00:34imirkin: raket: i think there were reported issues with that commit
00:34imirkin: raket: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/4763
00:49raket: imirkin: ok, i'm trying that -building mesa-21.1.5 with it.
01:05raket: imirkin: fixed, ty! i patched my sources :)
01:16imirkin: raket: maybe make a note in the bug with your experiences?
01:16imirkin: esp since this is simpler than the unity test-case i should think
01:16raket: imirkin: do you want me to report to gitlab? here's the full report https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/problem-with-x-mesa-21-1-4-x86_64-1-txz-4175697476/
01:17imirkin: raket: if you don't have an account, i can just add a link myself
01:17imirkin: raket: does one need more than what's available directly in ezquake to run the program?
01:18imirkin: e.g. the "official" quake dat file, etc
01:21imirkin: raket: added a comment there
01:21raket: imirkin: nquake includes the sharware version of quake dat files, ezquake might be needed to be compiled from source
01:21raket: anyway, gn, :) thanks for help!
10:04karolherbst: imirkin: cool, thanks
18:09Lyude: raket: do you happen to know Svanto btw?
18:10Lyude: I feel like you mentioned you had someone else in here helping you test stuff and I was wondering if that was the person, because they asked me something a few days ago but I haven't had a chance to answer since I haven't seen them online since
18:31raket: Lyude: not what i recall. i just play quakeworld with nv120 with 2k monitor at 165hz.. a nv120 mounted with fans that spins at 100% all the time with the reclocking :)
18:46raket: and i do play some counterstrike with nv120 as well.. (mostly with the blob), however still waiting for mesa_glthread=true to work with csgo and nouveau..
18:47imirkin_: does it not?
18:50raket: well.. no idea, csgo with nouveau seems to only bind to one core with 100% cpu usage, where with the blob it consumes way more
18:50raket: i haven't tried karols pr with cs yet, with quakeworld it just segfaults
18:51imirkin_: i mean ... mesa_glthread=true doesn't work around that
18:51imirkin_: it just moves all GL stuff to a single thread
18:53karolherbst: raket: huh?
18:54imirkin_: sounds like you have a customer :)
18:54raket: karolherbst: your pr https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/10752 , i tried it. and i executed quakeworld with mesa_glthread=true ./ezquake-linux-x86_64 and it just segafaults
18:55karolherbst: raket: and without my MR?
19:01raket: karolherbst: i'll back to you by tomorrow. it segafults with mesa-21.1.5 as well.. older mesa, i can't tell. however i -think- mesa_glthread=true used to work.
19:01karolherbst: as long as it's not a regression of my MR :D
19:39ccr: hmm .. sega-faults.
