13:35 AndrewR: hm, apparently mesa commit https://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/commit/?id=185ef06fd2db782d9d3d6046580f7cece02c4797 (dri3: Wait for all pending swapbuffers to be scheduled before touching the front) broke gl accelerated compositing for seamonkey 2.48/dri3 on nv92 .... (tabs stopped updating themselves, so only after shade/unshade action on broswer window it was possible to see anything)
13:37 tobijk: AndrewR: you mean completely blank pages? or how does it look like exactly?
13:39 AndrewR: tobijk, hm, one moment will screenshot it (after moving mesa above this commit, right now it running on commit just below this dri3 fix)
13:45 AndrewR: hm, now It appear to work, will restart X ...
14:13 MichaelP: HDMI audio... wha makes the audio sound better with nouveau then it does using nidia driver ?
14:26 AndrewR: tobijk, https://ibin.co/3VV8vXTzxeMb.png - while for now I can't say for sure what exactly commit broke it :/ because after X restart with 'good' mesa I got same bug, and only killing/restarting whole seamonkey again allowed it to function properly ...
14:32 tobijk: AndrewR: mh it could be the kernel as well, maybe you could thry an older one?
14:34 AndrewR: tobijk, I have few, but they were not very good anyway (this one works for nearly 30 days non-stop Linux slax 4.12.0-x64 #17 SMP Mon Jul 3 06:13:30 MSK 2017 x86_64 AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux )
15:51 AndrewR: so no, it was not very recent regression. After updating mesa to latest head and restarting X and getting this 'grey window' bug I killed seamonkey, and after restart it showed up OK...so, some bug still around, but I have workaround
16:03 tobijk: AndrewR: yeah it may show up under load or another app requesting vblank on or something like that
19:41 mangix: karolherbst: what do your clk patches do BTW? They give me MMIO read errors
19:42 karolherbst: mangix: dmesg
