00:45hgarcia: Hello, I'm having the same problem with radeon driver on two different computers
01:13hgarcia: I'm constantly getting the error "Vulkan: ../src/amd/vulkan/radv_physical_device.c:2182: Device '/dev/dri/renderD128' is not using the AMDGPU kernel driver"
01:13hgarcia: And "VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER"
22:40fililip: Venemo: I got the page fault / comp timeout again, here it is: https://pastebin.com/1UMqQPRR
22:40fililip: I'm not sure if you're able to get anything useful from this
22:40fililip: but after this page fault happens, all subsequent attemps to launch mpv fail until a suspend-resume or GPU reset
22:41fililip: and I have no devcoredump for some reason so I can't upload that anywhere :(
22:43fililip: and I still have no clue as to what causes it, it's not related to power management and it's not related to playing a video game (the compute ring was probably not even used at all since the ring started at index 1 there)
23:03Venemo: fililip: it looks like your kernel is trying to repeatedly reset the compute queue
23:04fililip: that might be because mpv just keeps throwing work at it
23:04Venemo: if this is Linux 6.18 or newer, that is known to be broken with RDNA3 and newer GPUs
23:05fililip: it also appears that it's always the same compute ring each time, does mesa use it by default or could it be something deeper like a firmware issue?
23:05fililip: I'm using 6.18.0
23:06fililip: the question is why the compute timeout happens to begin with
23:06Venemo: I assume it's always the same compute queue because when the application starts, it selects one of the compute queues and submits work to that.
23:06Venemo: at the moment we don't yet know what's wrong with 6.18, only that it heavily regresses our CI
23:08fililip: ah so this these comp timeouts are a general kernel issue? or just the infinite resets
23:08Venemo: as I said, I don't know
23:08Venemo: it needs further investigation
23:08fililip: hm but that would make sense actually
23:08fililip: is it any better on the current 6.19 rc?
23:45Venemo: IDK
23:45Venemo: sorry
23:53fililip: np, thanks for letting me know about the CI thing, I thought I was going crazy or smth
23:59Venemo: fililip: fwiw, phoronix also noted that 6.19 is broken in their testing
