00:56 kode54: wait, i915 doesn't support dg3?
01:02 Sachiel: what's dg3?
07:03 kode54: pardon
07:04 kode54: what the heck is battlemage called, if not battlemage
07:04 kode54: did they give up on the dg naming after 2
07:05 kode54: shrug, I sold my A770 and didn't look back
07:05 kode54: I already forgot what the A generation's codename was, I'd have to google it
10:08 DragoonAethis: kode54: it's just "BMG" now
10:10 DragoonAethis: I think even DG2 was retroactively renamed to ACM for Alchemist a while ago, but everyone still calls it DG2 anyways
18:52 Sachiel: yeah, BMG is xe.ko only
19:00 karolherbst: is MTL also ACM under the hood? I'm kinda confused what's what and wondering if using xe instead would be beneficial
19:02 Sachiel: it is, yes. Last time I tried xe with it I got some awful flickering on some web stuff, but that may have been that stable kernel didn't (doesn't?) have Kayden's patch to fix it
19:03 karolherbst: I see
19:04 karolherbst: i915 seems stable enough anyway, so maybe I just roll with it, compared to the previous iGPUs everything is fast now, so I don't really care _that_ much :D
19:43 Kayden: it works pretty much fine for desktop usage and some 3D if you're on v6.14.6 or v6.15
19:43 Kayden: I haven't tried media or extensive test suites
19:44 Kayden: i.e. I use it every day, I haven't seen any issues, but I haven't been doing extremely complicated things. I did run a few games
