X.org Board of Directors Meeting summary of Tuesday 2009-06-23. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Official log: https://members.x.org/minutes/xorg-board-2009-06-23.txt Location is #xf-bod@irc.oftc.net, timeframe of meeting unknown. Attending board members: Alan Coopersmith, Bart Massey, Daniel Stone, Donnie Berkholz. Absent board members: Carl Worth, Matthieu Herrb, Eric Anholt, Adam Jackson. Attending non-board members: Keith Packard. At the start of the meeting Bart makes a new appointment with Keith for opening a new bank account; "Please figure out what bank we're going to use, and make an appointment, and let me know." Bart then moves on to XDC: "why are we at 10 attendees and no talks at this point, and what do we do about it?". Carl had sent announcements out in april, but of course the response was minimal, so Bart states "We clearly need another announcement, and an explicit call for presentations, if we're going to keep going.", and Alan volunteers to get these mailed out. Bart then says "Let's try to figure out by next meeting if we need to pull the plug on this thing." and "we need a soon decision on how much hotel space we really need. If it's only 10 people I'll cancel the conference center". Daniel concludes with "a single announce half a year out isn't necessarily going to generate earthshaking amounts of interest", to which Bart answers "OK. Let's try another round of prodding now and see what it does." Bart then brings up the elections: "there's been no progress. Who here is on the Election Committee?", and "Anybody willing to be the Chair, and start down Carl's checklist?", but neither Donnie or Daniel are able to commit to it yet due to other obligations. Bart then moves to an unresolved financial matter that the foundation has with Daniel: "we still haven't successfully paid your people", "I will get that check in the mail this week". Keith then explains why: "we sent a check, they lost it". Daniel then adds: "it would be nice to get our shiny new real bank though; our previous bank adventures don't really fill me with confidence for dealing with future creditors". Bart then asks for "Other relevant business?", but no-one brings anything up and the meeting is ended. No motions were presented at this meeting, no voting took place.
